Planning Analyst — Forecasting, Analytics, and Sustainable Transportation

• Provided data-driven analysis and recommendations for land-use and transportation planning in the development of long-range planning documents, including Regional Transportation Plans (RTPs), Congestion Management Programs (CMPs), General Plans (GPs), and Transportation Master Plans (TMPs).
• Applied 4-Step and Activity-Based Travel Demand Models (TDMs) for the implementation of Transportation Impact Fee and VMT Banking programs, as well as project-level CEQA analysis.
• Developed software for automating the development of Agent-Based TDMs to assess multimodal network performance during emergency evacuation scenarios (wildfires, flooding, tsunami events), in compliance with California's SB-99 and AB-747, leveraging OpenStreetMaps, Census, and other open source datasets.
• Built and updated transit models in STOPS forecasting software for FTA Capital Improvement Grant applications and to assess project-level ridership generation.
• Conducted novel research assessing the environmental impact of affordable housing policies, including VMT mitigation through ADU-inclusive development and travel patterns for households affordable to low-income renters.

Rail Division Contracted Student Intern

• Collaborated with MA State Universities, providing technical and managerial support for greater than $1.9 million in USDOT SMART grant project funding.
• Researched the viability of drone-assisted rail inspection through literature review and field testing.
• Developed spatial datasets and visuals for rail safety analysis using drone-collected LiDAR data.
• Reviewed land-use applications for properties containing state rail RoWs and compiled response recommendations for the MA Secretary of Transportation.
